Top 5 tips when creating your clinic website

If you are a healthcare professional or you are in charge of creating a website for a clinic, there are many questions you need to answer to engage website visitors and  convert them from being a visitor to a client.

  1. Who are you?

It’s never as simple as you think. It’s not enough to say you are a Manual osteopath or Massage therapist, you need to provide the information to make your visitors become your patients.

Basically you need to answer a few question like, What makes you special? Why did you go into Osteopathy? What's your treatment philosophy? Are you focusing on hands-on  treatment or you have other modalities/services? Also why they should choose you over other practitioners for their pain or discomfort?

Make sure you include professional photos of you , your clinic and also other practitioners that works with you in your clinic, but please don’t use a selfie. You need to take a professional photo of your clinic, your team and yourself.

2.  What do you do?

When discussing your specialities focus on providing comprehensive description of your services.

It's usually recommended to dedicate one full page including your specialites and also each symptoms and conditions you treat.

What I mean is you need to have a page on how your clinic  can help a patients with back pain and another page on how you can help patients with headaches/migraine or herniated discs and so on and so forth.

Also if you provide different treatment for your patient no matter if all is performed by you or by a different practitioner, each need a different page such as massage therapy, chiropractic, physiotherapy or different modalities you may use such as acupuncture, cupping or electrotherapy,...

3.  Where they can find you?

When we say where they can find you, it includes your physical brick and mortal location as well as all social media pages you have.

You Need to be consistent through all your social media pages and websites and any other flyer or posters you have. You need to include all your addresses from physical location of your clinic, phone number, social media pages(facebook,instagram,twitter,..) as well as your email address fax number…

4. FAQ

Including FAQ is one of the important factors in any healthcare website that a lot of clinics don’t use.

By including the answers to major questions, most people will ask you if you include keywords and keyphrases most people will search and will have a huge SEO impact for your website.

Also having FAQ section will set you apart from all other health professionals and demonstrate you as an expert in your field and also make it easier for prospective clients to take action and book an appointment with you and asking questions related to what to expect before and during treatments and answering those questions can alleviate their anxiety.

5.  Providing valuable content:

When you are trying to set yourself apart from your competition and prove yourself as an expert in your field and your clinic as the best destination for the patients to go to, it is considered to provide valuable content to your website visitors.

Writing articles on different musculoskeletal issues or stretches and exercises for different symptoms and dysfunctions will make your patients trust you and your website as a destination for any future health question. They might have and through that you will turn your visitors to patients and your one time patients to loyal patients which is essential.Unless you are located in a small town with no other clinic, your patients will have other clinics to go when we are talking about rehab therapy, that’s why you want your patients to think about you and your clinic and your brand when they have a question or need help.

One of the easiest way to do that is to have new articles on regular basis and blast them everywhere. Have it on your website as a blog, publish it on social media and share it on twitter facebook,.. And also email them to your email list.

Publish meaningful success stories of your patients is another way to communicate with your current and prospective patients. In other words when you help your patients reach their goals, share their stories , write case study style articles and  also ask your patients to provide testimonials and reviews that you should share on your website and social media pages.

Just make sure before publishing any case study to follow HIPAA rules and guidelines and make sure to have your patients consent and never publish any of their protected health information online.
